The OmegaPS User Group Meeting (UGM) was held last week in Ottawa and it was attended by over 60 government and industry Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) professionals. This also included Chris Mair and Dave Cleverly from the Fareham office, and David Stephan from the Melbourne office.
The theme for this UGM was “innovation,” and to accentuate this point two guest speakers shared their perspectives on the subject. The first guest speaker was Capt(N) Jacques Oliver from DND, who amongst his primary duties as the Director of Naval Platform Systems, and the Naval Materiel Authority, he is also the Director for the Naval Technical Innovation Program. He shared the vision for the navy’s innovation program and how industry will be solicited and engaged to participate.

Our second guest speaker was Mr. Jamie Turcotte who is the President of Services for Thales Canada. His portfolio includes the in-service support services for the Arctic Off-shore Patrol Vessels (AOPS) and the Joint Support Ships (JSS). Jamie provided historic ILS perspectives on the “digital transformation” of in-service support, and he stressed that innovation must provide solutions that will help the end-users do their work more effectively and efficiently.
The UGM focused on demonstrating recent Pennant OmegaPS and Analyzer software innovations, and sought to engage the user community to provide their insights and perspectives on what innovations would help them perform their work better and improve the deliverables they provide to their clients. This UGM also offered workshops on new Analyzer and OmegaPS functionality.
We would like to thank our user community for their continued support and their insights to help us continuously improve and align our product suite to meet their needs, as well as those of the next generation of ILS professionals.
