Pennant and the Pension Service – The Learning Highway
The Learning Highway is the largest piece of e-learning ever created within the Department for Work and Pensions; bringing together a huge volume of complex technical information and providing the means to build an infinite number of different bespoke routes through the modules, to precisely match the learner’s requirements.
The inclusion of high fidelity emulation exercises on the Service’s main processing systems is proving highly successful in promoting knowledge retention and in building learner confidence that they have acquired the knowledge and skills required to perform an important role in the delivery of welfare support.
Here is some typical feedback so far:
“It doesn’t go round the houses like some of the old material”
“It’s really refreshing to have done some training that actually looks like your real work”
“There’s lots of variety – good A-Z links so that you can find information quickly, a notepad for your own comments, and a virtual instructor who can walk you through the steps”
“It’s much better than a lot of the archaic e-learning we used to use” “All in all, it’s one of the best training tools I’ve seen in my three years with The Pension Service”
The Pension Service is responsible for the delivery of benefits and financial support to a huge and increasing customer base, many of who are amongst the most vulnerable in society and heavily reliant on the Department’s ability to provide an accurate and efficient service.
