Pennant Training Systems Ltd has won a Subcontract with BAE Systems Insyte to provide Computer Based Training (CBT) courseware as part of the Royal Navy’s innovative Maritime Composite Training System (MCTS) which addresses a modern approach to Warfare operator training across the surface fleet. The CBT package specifically addresses the operator training solution for the command systems on the Royal Navy Type 23 frigates and Type 45 destroyers. The CBT is part of a blended solution that also includes Instructor led classroom training, classroom based skills training on a generic warship command system trainer, emulations and, finally, real time exercises on the high fidelity command team trainers being produced by BAE Systems Insyte. Under this Subcontract Pennant will provide highly interactive CBT covering the core operation of the two command systems and their interaction with associated weapon systems. The courseware is to be delivered by August 1st 2008.

Pennant CEO Chris Snook commented “we are delighted to be awarded this important Subcontract which builds on the company’s experience in producing the maintainer training media for the Type 45 command system under the T45 Training Media Enabling Contract (TMEC). This is the second training media Subcontract for the Type 45 programme and further establishes Pennant as a key supplier of naval operator and maintainer training solutions.
