Pennant successfully completes Type 45 TMEC Warfare Package for Royal Navy

December 2009

Pennant Training Systems Limited (Pennant) is pleased to announce final acceptance by the Royal Navy’s Type 45 Training Unit of the Training Media Enabling Contract (TMEC) Warfare package.

As part of the T3 consortium, Pennant supplied maintenance training media for the Type 45 “Warfare” system. Responsibilities included storyboard design and production of media assets, including sophisticated emulations and the subsequent testing of those assets.

The T3 consortium also includes BAE Systems Insyte, Thales Training and Simulation Ltd (TTSL) and VT Flagship.

Utilising BAE Systems Insyte’s Training Business Rules as the framework for the production of training media, Pennant’s Type 45 team has produced a range of training media objects and 3D rotational models for the Electro-Optical Gun Control System (EOGCS), Combat Management System (CMS) and Link 11 Communications System, which are fully conformant with the SCORM standard.

“Delivery of this media to schedule and within budget into the Type 45 Training Unit at HMS Collingwood has been achieved with support from the Type 45 PCO in Filton and is a measure of the expertise and dedication of the Pennant teams in Cheltenham, Manchester and Fareham. I look forward to the continued development of our relationship with the T3 consortium.” says Chris Snook, Chief Executive Pennant International Group.

Pennant Training Systems Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pennant International Group plc, based in Cheltenham, England and listed on the Alternative Investment Market [AIM] of the London Stock Exchange.
