System Trainers

Providing a versatile and adaptable approach to training.

Modular training systems provide a versatile and adaptable approach to training, allowing learners to engage with training content in a personalised and flexible manner. By breaking down training into modular units, these systems offer scalability, customisation, and the ability to cater to individual learning needs. Ultimately, modular training systems facilitate efficient and effective knowledge transfer, skill development, and performance improvement. Engine Starting System Trainer

The Engine Starting System Trainer is displayed on a large touchscreen display and presents a representative full and working 3D cutaway model of the engine supplemented by detailed electrical, fuel, air and oil schematics.
The system provides a full working picture of the complete engine starting cycle, enabling the seamless instruction in part or full-cycle along with relevant faults consolidating student learning electrically and mechanically in engine starting and indication, pressures and temperatures and basic gas turbine theory.
The Engine Starting System Trainer is either a bolt-on option to Pennant’s Integrated Avionics Maintenance Trainer (IAMT) or can be deployed as a standalone product. The enhancement provides an interactive training aid that focusses on a typical engine starting system.
Key features:
  • Engine model displayed on a 65″ touchscreen display
  • 3D model showing real-time electrical, fuel air and oil schematics
  • Representative faults can be injected into the trainer
  • Pause ability allows instructor and student discussions to occur
  • Several teaching points from start, ignition and induction of the engine

Fixed Wing Aircraft Systems Trainer

The Fixed Wing Aircraft Systems Trainer enables typical aircraft functional tests and fault-diagnosis procedures to be taught by either instructor demonstration or by student self-paced learning. Students will be able to carry out a range of practical training exercises through interaction with a virtual fixed wing aircraft, thus enabling progressive understanding of aircraft systems.
The trainer is designed to support training methods that may be used to satisfy the theoretical training element in the classroom. Training standards and qualifications include EASA/EMAR Pt66, FAA, City & Guilds, and CASA Part 66 and MEA. Formerly known as Virtual Aircraft Training System (VATS).
Key features:
  • Intuitive navigation & operation, detailed aircraft bays & LRUs
  • Integrated aircraft systems simulation, realistic real-time aircraft responses & 3D visuals
  • Training management system for scenario creation, planning and delivery
  • Real-time monitoring of training scenarios
  • Automatic student assessment and report generation
  • Electronic technical publications suite for the virtual aircraft
  • Can be installed on a standalone Windows PC or networked for use in a classroom environment

Rotary Aircraft Systems Trainer

Developed very much in the same vein as the Fixed Wing Aircraft Systems Trainer product, the Rotary Aircraft Systems Trainer (formally known as the Avionics and Electrical Systems Emulator AESE) enables students to develop and practice the skills required to maintain a modern rotary aircraft.
The trainer is a classroom desktop trainer which presents a graphical representation of the aircraft which the student can interact with, using virtual test equipment.
While majoring on the avionic and electrical trades, the trainer covers all systems on the aircraft to allow students to:
  • Locate and identify system components
  • Practice the normal operation of the aircraft avionic
  • Practice electrical systems for ground based activities
  • Perform functional tests on the active systems
  • Observe equipment and system malfunctions and perform fault diagnosis and rectification
