21 day countdown to The S1000D User Forum – It’s all about the Speakers!!!

With only 21 days till the kick-off of the 2018 S1000D User Forum, Team OneStrand are super excited and looking forward to what the speakers have in store for everyone.

If you are new to S1000D and have never attended the conference before, the User Forum has you covered with Monday kicking off at 1pm with an S1000D Tutorial Session broken into two parts and afternoon tea between the two sessions.  The tutorial session is followed up on Tuesday at 10:30am with the “S1000D Specification Year in Review” for everyone. Whether new or old to S1000D you will obtain an update on what has been happening with the specification.

From Tuesday, 1:30pm the sessions break into three tracks, and our pick for 1:30pm is to be in the Technical & Management track. The 1:30pm to 3pm timeslot is going to be popular with some new and interesting topics being discussed, including the presentation on Diagnostic and Prognostic Data Enabled S1000D Intelligent Application!

For Tuesdays 3:30pm to 5pm timeslot we believe the Use Case track is going to be popular, although the Graphics Specialists in the Technical & Management track is always interesting. This year the presentation on “Using X3D with S1000D” is something new. We of course must encourage you to come over and see OneStrand’s Production Demonstration in Track 3 at 4:30pm, where Tammy will be walking through how you can easily manage IETP distribution, recall and change package updates to Windows, Android and i-Devices, using the R4i Content Distribution and Management System (R4i CDMS).

On Wednesday the routine changes and we are down to two tracks with the Vendor Product Demonstrations being in Track two.  The 8:30am to 10am timeslot on Wednesday is completely dedicated to Data Conversion, so if legacy data is something you need to deal with now or in the future, you won’t want to miss these three speakers!

On Wednesday afternoon in the 3:30pm to 5pm session we encourage you to see Melissa’s practical, real-world discussion on the Technical and Managerial Challenges in using S1000D in Practice and at 4pm there will be a presentation on implementing ASD-STE100. If you are not up on the benefits of Simplified Technical English when working in an S1000D environment, then you should stay for Berry’s session after Melissa.  The S1000X discussion at 4:30pm will also be of interest to those who want to cover off some more learning on the “other S Specifications”.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2018 S1000D User Forum and discussing with others what their topic picks were and what benefit they received from the sessions.
