Lynx Maintenance Weapon Trainer (LMWT)

The Lynx Maintenance Weapons Trainer (LMWT) comprises an original refurbished airframe complete with gearboxes, rotor head, flying controls, LRU's and cockpit controls and displays required for training maintenance crews in a full range of maintenance and fault finding activities including:

  • Use of aircraft maintenance manuals;
  • Use of representative aircraft records documentation;
  • Safety procedures associated with potentially hazardous equipment;
  • Limitations and precautions associated with jacking aircraft and other ground maintenance techniques and procedures;
  • Deployment of manpower when carrying out potentially hazardous procedures;
  • Procedures to ensure the safe operation of aircraft controls and systems;
  • Safety consideration when repairing hydraulic and associated systems by replacement of components;
  • Weapons

 


A mix of original aircraft parts and high fidelity replicas provides for thoroughly realistic practical hands-on experience. Mechanical items can be removed and replaced using original tools and ground equipment. All cockpit displays and controls necessary for maintenance activities and systems checks are functional. The instructor can set-up and control training conditions through the systems software simulation.
