Cockpit Procedure Trainers

Fixed Wing Cockpit Procedure Trainers

Pennant Cockpit Procedure Trainers (CPT) comprises full-size accurate replicas of the aircraft cockpits complete with flying controls, displays and facsimile ejection seat. They provide training for aircrew in cockpit familiarisation, pre-flight checks and operational procedures, and maintenance groundcrew in cockpit controls, aircraft systems, maintenance and fault-finding procedures.

Pennant CPT's incorporates full simulation of specified systems, which in combination with facsimile controls, switches and indicators, allows aircrew to practice normal and emergency procedures in a realistic cockpit environment. The simulation software simulates the aircraft systems in both normal operating and failure conditions. Exercises can be controlled from the instructor workstation, and recorded for later debrief.

In service with the British Army the Lynx CPT provides flight and maintenance crews with a realistic cockpit environment. The CPT provides familiarisation and emergency drill training for aircrew and maintenance engineers practise their maintenance procedures. Consisting of a full size cockpit with instrument, displays and controls this CPT is reconfigurable between the Mk.7 & Mk.9 aircraft. A multi-channel computer generated visual system can be included for flying training.
